UKHELI.COM T-REX 600
Frame Build

One side frame fitted witht the 3 main shaft bearings and lower chassis plate.
Here are the two side plates of the tail belt drive unit. As you see the belt is captive so
you would remove this unit, split it, to renew the belt.
Both frames together along with tail drive, gyro plate, ,motor plate and battery plate up front.
You change the angle of the battery plate to adjust the CG when the battery is fixed to it.

Another view this time with the skids on. You also get a low profile set of white skids for 3D.
They look good and I will change to these once I am use to the heli.

First problem....
The ball links are made witha self tapping fixing screw and hex key
hole in ball.
On the elevator and aileron lever the plastic is very thin round the hold for the
ball link, plus I think too small...
As a result as you screw the ball link in the plastic splits.

As the stocks of parts are rather thin, I used a standard ball fron the T-Rex 450,
tapped 8BA. I pushed the plastic together with some CA glue and once set
drilled it to
clear the 8BA screw that I used, with washers and more CA glue, to hold the ball.

Here is the ball part of the ball-link with the self tapper
thread.

The core size is just over 1.8mm

But the hole size is just over 1.5mm !!
This is the tail rotor control arm, the only part left in my kit that needs this type of ball that
I can show before drilling.
I had no problems with fixing the balls on the rotor head so it maybe the holes were
bigger or they had more plastic around the holes.
All other holes for thses ball links I drilled to 1.8mm and had no other problems and would
suggest to anyone building this kit to do the same!!
