Fitting the Engine

Here is the layout of the parts that fit onto the crank shaft in the correct order.
Remove fan bolts and apply loctite.

NEVER use a piston lock tool that holds the top of the piston on the OS engines !
This tool holds the con rod after removing the end cover. Just push on after fitting the crank shaft
washer that comes with the engine. With loctite fit the nut tight then lock with the two cap head bolts
just under the fan, again loctite on these too....

Make sure the clutch one way is well greased but wipe any excess away.

4mm cap heads with loctite and spring washers hold the clutch on.
Refit crank case cover to the engine.

Fan case fitted next with two plastic spacers.

I found it best to remove the two bottom bolts on each engine mount.
Twist the carb a little and slide engine in.

This part may take some time..... fit the fan cover screws loose for now.

with engine bolts in move the engine so that the oneway starter spins easy clock wise.
Keep moving the engine till it is as free as you can make it. Lock it all up then, one at a time, remove
each bolt, add loctite and refit. Adjust fan cover so it clears the fan when turning starter
shaft anti clock, best without glow plug in engine !

If your using a remote glow lead, it is fitted here with the tag under the mounting bolt,
this provides the earth return. Move carb to be 90 deg to engine and tighten up clamp bolt.
