Torque Tube Tail

I upgraded to metal spacers so I can use 3mm cap heads with loctite to hold tail into the frame.

The tail mount is pre assembled but to fit the metal spacers just pull it apart,

change to metal and push back together.

Tail gearbox is also ready to use from the box but make sure they have used loctite on all bolts.

Fit the tail fin with two cap heads, and loctite...

Like this.

I removed blade grips to make sure they had greased the thrust bearings, refit cap heads with loctite.

Fit the tail pitch slider......

Before I could fit the ball, I had to drill this hole out deeper, 1.5mm drill was used.

Ready to fit and here is the tail arm with shim washers ready to go.

Make sure tail hub set screw fits onto this recess. Loctite needed.

Add a drop of oil to make the tail pitch slider move freely, I also polished the shaft.

Another view.

As per manual, CA bearing onto the drive tube and push over the plastic bush then add some grease.

Push into tail boom and add the tail push rod and guides then the ball links.

Push into tail mount and lock up with 4 cap heads with nylocs on other side.

Clamp tail end with the cap head seen here at the top.

Another view.

With metal spacers in the tail mounting use 3mm x 12 cap heads with loctite

or use the 12 self tappers if you stick with plastic spacers.

Tail fin fitted with boom supports.

The other end of the supports go like this, loctite as per other metal cap heads!
